We are delighted to announce the inaugural Harris Cup, taking place this year in the K Club. This is a new Ireland-China amateur golf tournament in the mould of the Ryder Cup which will promote the burgeoning links between the two countries. The tournament will take place annually, alternating between the K Club and leading Chinese courses, with a corresponding Ladies Tournament launching in 2019. Leading amateur golfers from Ireland and China will contend for the Harris Cup over three days of Four Balls, Foursomes, and Singles matches from the 8th to 10th of September.

The objective of this tournament is:

To build on the current momentum of Sino-Irish friendship
To further enhance the growth of Sino-Irish business, culture and tourism activities
To ensure a strong Irish contribution in welcoming the 2018 EU-China Tourism Year
To promote and leverage the launch of direct flights between China and Ireland

The Harris Cup is named in honour of Robert ‘Pino’ Harris, one of Ireland’s leading importers of Chinese vehicles.

The tournament is hosted by Red Shamrock Event Ltd. and endorsed by Fáilte Ireland.
